Add and maintain ½ of 1% Wallerstat™ anti-static anti-lint agent in the total volume of operating solvent (in washer, filters, storage tanks and lines). Depending on temperature, climatic and operating conditions in the plant. It is possible to get good results with as little as ¼ of 1% Wallerstat™ . Start at ½ of 1% then work down. Wallerstat™ may be used in the single bath or two bath systems. In the two bath system Wallerstat™ should be added to the rinse solvent only. Addition to the soap side is impractical as the Wallerstat™ will be removed by the rinse bath.

Many operators also return their reclaimed perchloroethylene to the base tank. Since the quantity returned from individual systems is variable, the quantity of solvent returned from the reclaimer, muck cooker or sniffer should be determined and Wallerstat™ added on the basis of 6 ½ fluid ounces for every 10 gallons of solvent returned to the system.
Additional Wallerstat™ must be added when:

Spray Method- Many plants prefer to use Wallerstat™ anti-static anti-lint agent by spraying a mixture of Wallerstat™ and solvent directly on top of the fabric in the tumbler or reclaimer BEFORE the drying cycle is started. Directions are as follows:
Spray Formula- Mix one part of Wallerstat™ anti-static anti-lint agent with 7 parts of solvent.
Application- Place this 1:7 mixture into any type pressure spray tank. Bring up air pressure in tank to manufacturer’s recommended operating pressure.

This method is a substitute for the Wallerstat™ charge system. Although the spray system is effective, results are not as consistent as those obtained with the Wallerstat™ charge system.
Laundry Flatwork Ironers – Put undiluted Wallerstat™ into pressure spray tank. Use proper amount of air pressure to produce a fine mist through spray gun. Apply an even coating to the feed aprons when clipper lacing comes into view. Spray for at least two rotations of apron through operating cycle.
Automatic Laundry Folders – Use Wallerstat™ in pressure spray tank as described for use in flatwork ironers. Spray feed ribbons thoroughly but evenly for 2 or 3 rotations while folder is in operation. This will prevent static build-up in the automatic folders, thus eliminating shocks or discomfort to operators. Spray feed-roller brushings and wheels on bottom of legs of automatic folder. These are insulation points and prevent release of static from machine into the floor.
